Australian Plants Sale Saturday 4 May

So what is a group of passionate lovers of Australian native plants doing holding a Plant Sale?  Well, not only do we aim to promote the use of Australian plants in gardens, we also aim to encourage the nursery industry to propagate and supply Australian plants to you, the plant-loving public.  By we, I mean the Australian Plants Society (APS) Mornington Peninsula District Group.   As in previous years, we will be hosting mainly local growers including Merricks Nursery, and Sunvalley Nursery - plus some from further afield, including Melaleuca Nursery from Inverloch.  In the only public sale for their year, Seawinds Nursery will provide a great array of indigenous plants that are often hard to source.

Seawinds Gardens at Arthurs Seat provides a lovely background and the weather is usually kind in early May.  In previous years’ sales, the people who came appreciated not just looking and buying, but also the advice from growers who are all experienced with local growing conditions.

This year’s sale will be held on Saturday 4 May from 10am to 3:30pm.  Entry is free.  Do come along, it’s a great opportunity to replace some plants which may have been lost over the long dry summer, or buy a present for Mother’s Day.   And it’s the perfect time to plant!
